As you may know, Brisingr, the latest book in the Inheritance Cycle, was released last Saturday. I had half a mind to got to the release party at Kepler’s just to get some free donuts, but i doubt I’d have been allowed any donuts, seeing as I don’t even want the book. A few days [...]

It seems that I have a severe case of Procrastinating Blogger Syndrome. Oh well. What I meant to say yesterday about the most recent Death Note was that it was really cheesy. L’s death was a really poignant scene in the manga, so Saturday’s episode was kind of a disappointment. The school bells, the rain, [...]
My Favorite Things in the Whole Wide World!!!

Ah, words! My favorite things in the whole wide world! However, they are so often misused, mistreated, and abused! Today, I hope to stop (or at least put off momentarily) the word-rape that people so often commit when attempting the proper usage of words (and spelling, punctuation, pronunciation, grammar, etc.) Now, [...]

Terry Pratchett was in the paper today. Apparently, he’s donating $1 million dollars to Alzheimer’s research. I was so sad when I heard he had early-onset Alzheimer’s.
That was arbitrary, I know.

Allo. I have this friend who likes sci-fi, but not fantasy, and claims that all fantasy is lame. Correction. Most fantasy, and, for that matter, most books in general, are lame, sci-fi included. If you’re going to complain that all fantasy is bad and don’t wish to group fantasy and science [...]

A couple of weeks ago, I bought the novel, Shakugan no Shana, for a completely idiotic reason. I knew it was a stupid reason, but I bought it anyway. The reason was this: the author, Yashichiro Takahashi, is friends with Hiromu Arakawa (manga-ka behind Fullmetal Alchemist.) But anyway, unlike most [...]

Okay, so I heard about this book through a book recommendation. The recommender told me that she “hadn’t had high hopes for it, but found that it was quite funny.” Going into it, I hadn’t had high hopes either, despite the large amount of people on amazon.com who say it’s the bee’s [...]

Kvetha Fricaya! (That’s pretentious-talk for “Greetings, friend!”)
I should probably say first that I’m not actually affiliated with the Anti-Shur’tagal. I’m not even a member of the live journal or the forums. I do, however, agree with every thing they’re saying, so I decided to do my own article on the Inheritance books. [...]
