Man, i can’t believe I forgot to post yesterday… I wasn’t even busy or anything. Anyway, the Olympics started today. I didn’t watch them, but I know they began today. Anyhoo…
Cellphones
A couple weeks ago, I was sitting on a bench outside of a coffee shop, and there was this guy sitting a few feet in front of me, on the ledge around the flowerbed, talking loudly on his cellphone. That day, I learned much more than I wanted or needed to know about the birth of his child. So yeah…
Also, even though there was recently a law passed here that people can’t talk on their cellphones in cars unless they’re hands-free, people still talk on non-hands-free cellphones all the time in their cars. Which is to be expected, really, but, law or no law, it’s just not a good idea. Hopefully, that’s obvious, but, to many people, it isn’t, apparently.
Eh, I don’t really have that much to say today.

I didn’t post anything on 08/08/08 either – except for a brief note saying that it’s 08/08/08 (posted at exactly 08:08:08, naturally) and remarking on how nice it is that the numbers line up.
Get your hands on footage of the opening ceremony, if you have the time. Utterly breathtaking. London will be hard-pressed to top that one.
Re: Cellphones
We’ve had a similar law around here for years. Enforcement is lax, but I wouldn’t say it’s universally ignored. Just be sure to put that mobile down around lunchtime – the cops will be on the prowl for lunch money and might flag you down to collect a bribe.
