Today I went hiking in the foothills. Unfortunately, I didn’t really see any wildlife, except for a couple of quail. It was very scenic, though, and there was one point where I could see all the way out to the bay. It was really gorgeous. Also, something about the scenery reminds me of the scenery in some of the Akira Kurosawa films I’ve seen. I mean, I’m in California, not Japan, but there are similar sorts of plants.
When I came home from hiking and I went in to the living room, I found that my parakeet had completely knocked his bird gym off of his cage. It’s basically just a piece of wood with a few ladders on it, and we keep it on top of the cage when neither (there are two, a budgie and a cockatiel) of the birds are out. The budgie doesn’t like having it over him though, and he had been slowly inching it off of the cage. He’s a very persistent bird.
