It seems that I have a severe case of Procrastinating Blogger Syndrome. Oh well. What I meant to say yesterday about the most recent Death Note was that it was really cheesy. L’s death was a really poignant scene in the manga, so Saturday’s episode was kind of a disappointment. The school bells, the rain, the foot massage… it was so cheesy/corny/narmy!!!! For an appropriate definition of narm, look for it on TV Tropes. Also, I think the English voice actress for Misa is a better singer than her original seiyuu. The song was kind of weird.
Death Note aside, I’d like to list a couple more of my favorite things in the world.
1. Founder. I’ve seen this everywhere. The paper, manga, books… Everyone seems to think founder=flounder. What would floundering be anyway? All flounders do is wriggle around. Anyway, just think before you use the word “flounder.”
2. Random. There have been Youtube videos about this one’s use/mis-use, and it was on the banned words list, so I should probably mention just how overused the word “random” is. And no, it’s not just by middle and high-schoolers. For some alternatives, see this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOW-o3-vP4Y&feature=PlayList&p=0505A93C873BC802&index=9
OK, that’s all for now.
YAY!!! an update!!!! it has been awhile!!! glad to see your back!
Oh, L died, did he? I stopped watching at a certain point… It seemed to jump the shark and get cheezy ’round about the time Light’s father pretended to shoot him in the back seat of the car.
I guess I should have put a spoiler warning, but oh well. The car scene didn’t seems that cheesy to me, but maybe that’s because it was a lot more intense in the manga. Still, this episode was about 1000 times cheesier. Also, I meant to mention that this episode seems responsible, to me, for all the yaoi junk I’ve seen on Death Note.
On the net, I meant.
Oh, and glad to be back.
