Archive for December, 2007

I have nothing to say.  I guess it turned out pretty predictably.  At least Sixwire didn’t win…  Still, a lot of bands, like Dot Dot Dot and Franklin Bridge, got eliminated way too early.  If this comes back for a second season and I decide to watch it, i probably won’t blog about it.

L Fragrance

I recently saw a particularly weird/hilarious commercial on the tube.  Apparently, L is now a fragrance.  Seriously.  Gwen Stefani’s new fragrance is not only called L, but also boasts the same font as our favorite detective’s logo.  The Gothic-esque font does not fit the fragrance, though, as it’s supposed to be pretty floral.  There’s no [...]

Rant on Flipping

I was flipping through an issue of Wired recently when I saw a letter in response to their article on manga in November’s issue.  I can’t find the issue now, but the person was basically talking about how much he hates unflipped manga, and how some people just can’t adjust.  This is just silly.  The [...]

Okay, so I heard about this book through a book recommendation. The recommender told me that she “hadn’t had high hopes for it, but found that it was quite funny.” Going into it, I hadn’t had high hopes either, despite the large amount of people on amazon.com who say it’s the bee’s [...]

In this episode, the judges just picked whatever songs they thought suited the bands.  At the end of the episode, they each got to play their own song.
Denver has made it to the top 3.  At least one good band made it.
At one point in the show, Rzeznik tells the Clark Brothers that every woman [...]

Yet another double-post.  Also, I started reading the Death Note manga.  So far, I’ve read the first four volumes.
Anyhoo, onto episode 8:
In this episode, L and co. set up cameras in two police officers houses to see if anyone in their families could be a suspect.  One of the suspects is Light, of course.  Light [...]

Mumblings

My birthday was on Tuesday.  I didn’t go out for dinner or anything.  I just stayed home.  I had double-baked potatoes and one of them exploded in the over, creating a huge mess.  The moral is to always poke holes in a potato before baking it.
I know I’ve said so before, but I’m super busy, [...]

Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE volume 1
After having read all the Tsubasa manga released thus far, I finally got around to buying the DVD.  I’d already watched the first 30 or so episodes in Japanese, and I hadn’t been too impressed.  It’s a solid show, just not as good as the manga.  Anyway, I watched it in [...]

Queen night (yay!)
No one did “Killer Queen” or “Bohemian Rhapsody”, though.
I’m beginning to feel angry about Sixwire still being in.  They’re sooooo boooooring.  What are the housewives of America thinking?
Even more inexplicably, Light of Doom still lives.  And Dot Dot Dot got eliminated.  Theres something wrong with that.  Oh well, at least Denver’s still in.  [...]

These episodes were both about the same thing, so I grouped them together.
Light meets a woman who thinks that Kira can kill people using methods other than heart attacks.   She also happens to be Raye Penber’s girlfriend.  Obviously, this worries Light.  When he tells her his father is a policeman and that she [...]

Rod Stewart night.
Nothing too amazing happened in this episode.  Dot Dot Dot did really well.  Light of Doom lives, inexplicably, but, the longer they last, the more I have to force myself to view them objectively.  Even if they’re getting better, kids or not, I still wouldn’t listen to them.
Tres Bien got eliminated.  They were [...]

I just read Gamespot’s review of fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and I was infuriated. The review is whiny and often makes no sense. Even if game reviews are subjective, there is a certain point at which things are either true or untrue. Unfortunately, I don’t believe I’ve read any reviews by [...]
